Architecture that respects how you live.
Millenaar Architects is a residential architecture practice based in Newlands, Cape Town. We work on renovations and new builds — projects where the brief is deeply personal and the outcome has to last.
We are a small practice by choice. Every project receives our full attention, from first conversation to final handover.
Our Team
The people behind the work.
Robyn Millenaar

Architect · Founder
Robyn studied Architecture at UCT, graduating with both a BAS and BArch degree. After working in Dublin, she returned to South Africa and spent years at leading Cape Town and Johannesburg firms before becoming a partner in a successful residential practice.
She founded Millenaar Architects in 2009 with a clear focus: residential work done properly, with the client at the centre of every decision.
Frank Millenaar
Architect
Frank studied at Wits Tech before completing his BArch at UCT with distinction. He worked in Dublin after graduating and, on returning to South Africa, brought experience across both commercial and residential practices.
His background in diverse project types informs an approach that is technically rigorous and design-led in equal measure.
Our Philosophy
Guided by you.
Informed by us.
Good architecture doesn’t impose — it listens. We use our expertise to guide the process, but we are always led by your requirements, your lifestyle, and your vision. The result is a space that feels entirely yours.
We work closely with clients from the earliest sketch through to the final detail — whether that’s a considered renovation of a beloved family home or a new build designed from the ground up. We are equally at home with both.
Budget is not a constraint — it is a creative brief. We pride ourselves on finding solutions that maximise impact within the means available. Every project, at every scale, receives the same considered response.
Community Work
Giving back.
bono
Stage 1 services
for qualifying NGOs
We believe architecture should serve everyone — not just those who can easily afford it.
From time to time we donate our time to assist NGOs with community building projects. Many organisations struggle to secure funding precisely because they cannot appoint a professional team — and without a professional team, they cannot present a credible proposal to funders.
We offer our Stage 1 services pro bono so that NGOs can access the documentation they need to unlock funding and bring their projects to life. It is a small contribution with an outsized impact.
